Fox has ordered a second season of “The Following” and has picked up the comedy series “New Girl,” “The Mindy Project” and “Raising Hope” for the 2013-2014 season, t was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “New Girl” was picked up for a third season, “The Mindy Project” received a second season order and “Raising Hope” was renewed for a fourth season.
“From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding,” said Reilly about “The Following.” “Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on Fox for another season.”
After only six airings, “The Following” is the No. 2 broadcast drama and the No. 3 drama overall this season with Live+7 ratings. The drama continues with nine all-new episodes airing Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on Fox.

Season to date, “New Girl” ranks No. 1 among comedies in its core Women 18-34 demographic and is a Top 10 comedy among Adults 18-49. “The Mindy Project” has emerged as the No. 1 new comedy of the season among Women 18-34, while “Raising Hope,” which has anchored Foxs Tuesday nights this season, is a Top 20 sitcom among Adults 18-34 and Teens.
