Deadline reports that ABC is in the process of developing a new drama series adaptation of Tracy Walder and Jessica Anya Blau’s upcoming autobiographical book The Sorority Girl Who Saved Your Life. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is set to executive produce the series through her Calamity Jane banner with Arrow‘s former showrunner Wendy Mericle to pen the adaptation.
“Tracy’s real-life story is fascinating, and we are honored that she has entrusted our team to put a fictional twist on her real-life wild ride” Pompeo said.

The Sorority Girl Who Saved Your Life tells the remarkable real-life story of Tracy Walder, who was a USC student and Delta Gamma sorority sister. Her life suddenly changes when one day, she happened to meet a CIA recruiter at a jobs fair and was recruited to join the agency. For the five years, Walder worked as a covert operative for CIA’s Counterterrorism Center and had experienced many dangerous missions including assuming aliases, thwarting terrorist attacks, and hiding in the trunks of cars on her way to debrief terrorists at black sites. During her time at the CIA, Walder travelled to the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Southeast Asia, receiving awards for her service.
Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly will also become the show’s executive producers through their Timberman-Beverly Prods. along with Calamity Jane’s Laura Holstein and Mericle, who will also serves as the series’ showrunner. Walder and Blau will be consultants for the drama. Their book will be published by St. Martin’s Press in 2020.
