CBS is developing an American version of the BBC crime drama “Second Sight,” TV Line reports. Jason Lee is attached to play the lead.
The original series premiered in 2000 and ran for eight episodes. It starred Clive Owen as Detective Chief Inspector Ross Tanner, a maverick cop who undergoes an experimental treatment to hide the fact that he’s going blind. The setting of the CBS version will be relocated from London to New Orleans.
Michael Cuesta will direct the pilot with a script co-written by Gerald Cuesta. The former Cuesta will also executive produce alongside Phil Goldfine, Carol Mendelsohn, Paula Milne, Nick Reed and Julie Weitz.
