Cursed Season 1 Episode 9 and Episode 10 Recap

In the previous episodes of Netflix’s Cursed, the Paladins captured Gawain, and the Fey were trapped in Gramaire. In Cursed Season 1 Episode 9, Nimue entertained deals with Cumber and Uther for the sword, and in Cursed Season 2 Episode 10, Arthur led the Fey to the Pendragon ships, while Nimue bargained for Gawain’s life.

To Safety

Bu’Luf, a Tusk Fey, killed a miller for the red cross on his door. When brought before Nimue, she questioned why he’d killed him if he’d known that the non-Christian citizens of Gramaire feared the Paladins and painted red crosses to save themselves. Nimue cut his hands off with the Sword of Power. Because of this, Wroth, the leader of the Tusks, wanted to overthrow Nimue. Arthur convinced him that the survival of the Fey was more important than the blood feud. He offered his hands, and Wroth spared him.

The Fey were to leave on ship that Uther had promised would take them to safety. At their arrival, Arthur sent Nimue a raven with a message that they were boarding the boats. However, Cumber, who had allied with the Paladins, fired upon the Fey. The Red Spear and her raiders helped the Fey, and Arthur saved her life.

Conflicted

When the Weeping Monk brought Gawain to Father Carden, he sent him to Brother Salt in the Kitchen. He tortured Gawain for information. Squirrel tried to rescue Gawain, but he told Squirrel to run since his legs won’t work anymore. Gawain called Squirrel by his real name, Percival. Brother Salt caught Squirrel, and the Weeping Monk asked Carden to spare him.

The Weeping Monk prayed after whipping himself in penance. He asked Carden if his love for him was unconditional. Carden had known that he was Fey and called him an abomination. He urged him to do what was necessary.

During the battle at the camp, the Weeping Monk rescued Squirrel. He fought and defeated the Trinity, and they escaped together. The Weeping Monk told Squirrel that his true name was Lancelot.

“The Widow Stalks Her”

Uther had poisoned Lady Lunete like she had done to kill his birth mother. Merlin arrived at his camp after the Fisherman wounded him with a poison arrow. Uther told Merlin what he’d done.

Upon receiving Arthur’s raven, Nimue set off for Uther’s camp. She’d sent Morgana ahead with the Sword. In the woods, Celia appeared to her and told her that Nimue’s name had been given to the Widow. In a confrontation with the Widow, Morgana killed her and took her place.

Nimue told Uther that she would relinquish the Sword in exchange for Gawain and Squirrel. As the Paladins battled their way through Uther’s camp, Gawain, who was near death, was brought to Nimue. Nimue used her magic, and the Hidden took Gawain’s body as the Paladins took her away. Morgana, as the Widow, appeared to Nimue and brought her the Sword. She killed Father Carden and escaped the camp with Morgana and the injured Merlin.

Lightning and Magic

On a stone bridge over a waterfall, Iris finally caught up to Nimue, Morgana, and Merlin. She shot Nimue with arrows, and Nimue fell off the bridge. After she slipped from Merlin’s fingers, he retrieved the Sword and killed the Paladins coming after them. He used his magic to summon and wield lightning, and he and Morgana escaped. At the end of the episode, the pope named Sister Iris to the Trinity, and we saw Nimue floating in bloody water.
