In the previous episode of DC Universe’s Doom Patrol, Dorothy made a wish, and the Candlemaker killed Baby Doll and Katy in the Underground. In Doom Patrol Season 2 Episode 6, the Alters had a funeral procession for Baby Doll and Katy, while Niles and Cliff went after Dorothy who fled to space.
Pioneers of the Uncharted
Larry welcomed a group of three space travelers whose ship landed in the front lawn. They were the Pioneers of the Uncharted, a group of space travelers from the 50s that Niles was in charge of until he lost communication with them. Zip and Specs were quirky and excitable, but Valentina, a.k.a. Moscow, was calmly and stably housing her own Negative Spirit without the radiation. It was her acceptance of the Negative Spirit as part of her that allowed her to contain it within her.
Valentina revealed to Larry that Zip and Specs had died long ago and were animated with spores. She had returned to Earth to bury them. Larry helped, and she warned him about eating anything that grew in the spot where they buried them.
Hiding in Space
After Cliff and Niles discovered Jane covered in wax and in a coma, Dorothy ran away. She took the Pioneers’ spaceship. Fortunately, Niles had another one. He revealed that he had essentially invented space travel with the help of a magic goat head.
On the moon, Cliff talked to Dorothy, who had resigned herself to living there forever. Cliff persuaded her to come back. When she did, Niles made her promise to never make another wish. Alone with Niles, Cliff promised to be there for Dorothy after he dies. Niles released him into space.
Our Town!
Rita went to the first rehearsal of the play where she would be performing as the beekeeper. Instead of the famous play, Our Town, it was an original story about Clovertown called Our Town! It was about the strange things that happened because of the Doom Patrol’s presence there. She talked with Isabel Feathers, who was playing the Blob Woman. Rita faced Isabel’s misunderstanding of her motivation. Isabel believed the Blob was a destructive force.
Funeral Procession
The Alters voted to hold a funeral procession for Baby Doll and Katy. They would deposit them in the well where Miranda had gone to kill herself. Jane tried to stop them because they didn’t know what happened to Alters who died in a construct like the Underground. She tried to appeal to Kay and Hammerhead. Killing Baby Doll would destroy one of the only personalities that trusted men. A mysterious Alter revealed herself to be Miranda. She claimed that she had been reborn in the well. Miranda persuaded Jane to step down as primary and woke up in the real world.
