In the previous episode of The CW’s Charmed, the sisters met Abigael, a half-demon, half-witch who tried to kill Macy. In Charmed Season 2 Episode 4, the Charmed Ones worked with Abigael to track down the assassin, and Harry made progress with unlocking the mysteries in the Book of Elders.
Kyon Queen
The Charmed Ones held Abigael in the command center, bound with a spell. Abigael explained that she had co-opted the old demon legend of the Overlord to unite the demon world. She was Alistair Caine’s son and Parker and Hunter’s half-sister. Abigael resented her father’s preference for his male sons, and the demon world’s patriarchal views. She explained that she had been shot by the assassin’s dart during an attack. Thinking that witches had killed her supplicants, Abigael had made more of the assassin’s poison and killed the witches in Vermont.
Following a lead from Abigael, she joined Macy and Mel in Montana. They came across Kyons, the “velociraptors” of the demon world. Using the queen’s antlers, Mel brewed a potion to help them locate the queen. She drank it and temporarily became linked to the Kyons. Macy, Maggie, and Abigael followed her to a facility where the assassin had collected the prime version of magical creatures. Mel freed the Kyon queen and the rest of the creatures. Macy left with Harry, who showed up at the end, and Mel imprisoned Abigael again with her binding spell.
The Alpha
Harry used the device from the Sentinel to read a Latin word meaning “password” from the Book of Elders. He and Mel found a safe containing a key, a magical identification card, and an envelope labeled “Alpha” containing records for a patient named Helen at the Tulipe Institute in Rochester. Before SafeSpace was built, it was the Tulipe asylum for women. Harry went to New York and used the ID card to gain access to Helen. She was the first whitelighter, originally from Salem in the late 1600s.
The nurse mentioned Helen’s sister and took him to see her. She looked exactly like Helen but was crazed and violent. Harry determined that she was part of Helen, not her sister. It was the cost of making her a whitelighter. All whitelighters had another side to them in the world, a darklighter. When Macy didn’t turn up, they realized that she had gone off with Harry’s darklighter, the assassin.
Foresight
Maggie’s first task as assistant manager was finding a recipient for a grant. She suggested to Jordan that he use his boxing as part of a wellness program for the grant. Maggie worked with him to create a proposal. During this, she noticed she had developed a new power, foresight.
While chasing after Mel, Maggie had missed the proposal. Jordan pitched it anyway, and it was received enthusiastically. He seemed to wonder if Maggie had missed it because she met Jordan’s girlfriend, Lola.
