Unfortunately, during Seth’s press briefing, all anyone would ask him about was the article. Seth snapped and ranted about how disgusting it was.

Pardon

Designated Survivor Season 3 Episode 5 Recap

Harper wanted a short list from Isabel for potential pardons. Isabel included Miguel Salcedo, who’d been sentenced to 70 years in jail for his words inciting an act of terrorism. It was a free speech issue but would be unpopular because people had died. Lorraine asked Aaron to talk her down, and when he tried, Isabel called him out. Aaron argued that his work was more important, and she refused to attend the debate with him.

During the debate, Kirkman tied the inciting news story with his Miguel Salcedo pardon and highlighted the importance of free speech. By Lorraine’s estimation, he had won the debate. She had paid for the article to be written and witnessed Emily leaving Aaron’s hotel room after they’d slept together. When Aaron got home, he apologized for what he said to Isabel but didn’t come clean about cheating on her.

When he got home, Lynn wanted to be intimate for the first time in a while. Unfortunately, after having just had sex with his mistress, he couldn’t. She questioned if he still found her attractive. At the end of the episode, Harper found Lynn on the floor. She had overdosed.
