Doom Patrol Episode 15 deals with the fallout from Niles revealing that he was behind the tragedies that befell each of the members of the team. Niles explains that he experimented on each of them, trying to find the secret of immortality. Niles begs Nobody to let them go, which he does. Nobody says that this was never about them and sends them back to their lives outside the White Space. Nobody tells Niles that the world is his oyster and that it’s Niles’s turn to be a noboy before sending Niles back to the manor alone.
Larry & Rita
Six months later, Larry and Rita have moved into an apartment together. Larry keeps working at staying conscious for longer periods of time while the negative spirit is out of his body. Rita is teaching drama to teenagers at the local school. While Larry is having success, Rita’s situation is made real for her by a group of bullies who point out how pathetic she is.
The two hear disembodied music that no one else in their apartment complex seems to hear. Though they are the ones who refuse to get involved, they decide to follow the sound.
Jane & Cliff
Jane returns to the Doom Patrol’s academy. There she learns that Niles developed an opiate serum to dull metahuman abilities. Jane steals the serum. Back at the bus, which Jane is living out of in a seedy part of town, she injects herself and all of her personalities get high and drift to sleep. Cliff continues to keep watch over Jane from afar, bringing her takeout and leaving it outside the bus for Jane to find each morning.
Like Larry and Rita, Jane and Cliff can hear the music and decide to find it and put a stop to it.
Vic
Vic is haunted by nightmares that twist his own experience of being put back together after the explosion with hum being responsible for the deaths of the team members. Silas checks in on Vic, but Vic brushes him aside with a lame excuse about searching for cybercriminals being more important than being on the street. Like the rest of the team, Vic follows the music to its source at the manor.
Nobody’s Revenge
Nobody’s thrill of victory has long since disappeared. Ezekiel the roach convinces Nobody to hatch a new plan, one that will result in the apocalypse. Along with Admiral Whiskers, the trio find Danny and imprison them in a painting along with the one person Niles still cares about and who still cares about Niles — his daughter. When Niles explains the situation to the team, they agree to help for Danny’s sake and for Niles’s daughter, not for Niles.
The music they all heard is the Beard Hunter in the cabaret, the last one left keeping Danny alive. Nobody found Niles’s daughter, and she promptly defeated Nobody and enlarged Ezekiel and Whiskers to the size of kaiju. While the team goes to rescue Niles’s daughter and find a way to free them all from the painting, Rita consoles Nobody. She knows what it is like to be beaten by a kid. She convinces Nobody to reassert control of the situation by taking up narrating the rest of the story.
While Jane and Niles save Niles’s daughter, Dorothy, the rest get eaten by Ezekiel. With them all safely shielded from radiation inside the cockroach, the negative spirit tears a hole in the dimensions, freeing Danny and everyone who was inside the roach, leaving only Nobody and the Beard Hunter still trapped inside the painting.
