In the previous episode of The CW’s Charmed, Macy resolved to go to the Elders about her demon blood, while Mel further embraced the Sarcana’s point of view. In Charmed season 1 episode 15, Mel and Maggie found themselves in a Freaky Friday situation, while Macy dreamed of a person turning to stone.
Vortex Viribus
Maggie showed Harry and Charity the underground temple she and Parker fell into at the end of the previous episode. It was a Vortex Viribus. They didn’t know why it was there. It had runes inscribed into the walls that glowed when Macy and Maggie touched it. The runes ended up amplifying their powers.
Medusa
After touching the rune, Macy dreamed about turning a man to stone. While on campus, she saw him on the quad. All the other students thought it was a Banksy-esque art piece. Stone statues started popping up all over campus. At first, Macy thought she was doing this in her sleep. Later, she and Harry realized she could see through Medusa’s eyes.
Harry believed Macy had a connection with Medusa, who used to be a witch and one of three sisters. After suffering a rape, she was punished and transformed into a Gorgon. Some Phi Delt brothers had slut-shamed one of the Kappa rushes, Daphne. Daphne had accidentally summoned Medusa, who was going after the slut-shamers and those who did nothing and were complicit.
Macy armed herself with a shield that could block Medusa’s powers. Charity would use a sword to cut off her head. However, Macy realized that Medusa was turning to stone those who turned away. Macy looked her in the eye. She told Medusa she saw her and promised that they would help Daphne get justice. They told Lucy, who promised they would report what happened, and Parker kicked out those Phi Delts who were involved.
Empathy
Touching the rune amplified Maggie’s powers. After arguing with Mel, they accidentally switched bodies, an extension of her empath powers. Mel discovered why it was important to Maggie to rush Kappa again and understood how exhausting it was to have other people’s thoughts in her head all day.
Maggie found out that Charity’s sister, Fiona, was still alive. Fiona was the Keeper of the Sacred Flame, a source of magical power. The Keeper was immortal, so the Elders banished her to Tartarus. Fiona didn’t want Harry or Charity knowing she was still alive. Maggie understood Mel’s distrust in the Elders after speaking with Fiona.
The Evil Sight
Charity introduced Macy to Elder Priyanka Bari. She was interested in how Macy’s demon blood was affecting her. Elder Bari determined that the demon had gifted her with the Evil Sight. She could see evil things happening, even in the past. The ability could help Macy see who killed Marisol. Elder Bari enchanted a hair stick and threw it at Macy to boost her power. She saw that Charity had killed Marisol, and Charity attacked Elder Bari.
