Morden was a third-rate henchman–a nobody–who sought out a former Nazi scientist hiding in Paraguay in 1948. Morden paid the Nazi a king’s ransom in order to undergo one of the scientist’s experiments that were supposed to result in Morden receiving metahuman enhancements. Repeating the mantra “The mind is the limit,” Morden is blasted with energy, creating Mr. Nobody, the villain and narrator of the episode.

Larry Trainor was the government’s star experimental test pilot who hid the fact that he was gay from the world. In 1961, while flying a test craft into space, Larry encountered a radioactive force that cut the craft’s power, sending it plummeting to earth where it crashed in a fiery explosion. The exposure to that force allowed Larry to survive, but he exists wrapped in bandages and clothing that keep the negative radioactive energy inside himself.
“What’s Drinky’s Deal?”

Crazy Jane’s arrival in the house in 2019 catches the story up to the present day. Jane possesses/is possessed by 64 distinct personalities, each with its own unique set of metahuman abilities. Jane’s moods swing wildly, depending on which personality presents itself at any given time.
“More TV Superheroes. Just What The World Needs”
As the group bonds into a “found family”, The Chief feels confident enough to resume traveling, searching for more of the world’s great mysteries. While The Chief is away, Jane hijacks the bus, gets it repainted black, and tells the gang that she wants to head into town. Cliff’s up for it. Larry and Rita initially refuse, but Jane plays on Rita’s ego and convinces the whole team to come along.
While in town, trouble sets in. Larry is uncomfortable with people staring at him, which excites his radioactive energy. Cliff and Jane get into a shouting match in the park over The Chief lying to Cliff, telling him that his daughter was killed in the car crash as well, which draws the attention of the cops. Rita seems to be enjoying attention in the diner, but when the conversation turns to rumors surrounding Rita’s death, she loses control and becomes a blob-like creature wrecking havoc and causing chaos throughout the town. Larry lets loose his negative energy, which saves one woman from downed power lines. Cliff saves a bus full of trapped students by ripping up the road and halting Rita’s advance.
“If We Do, We’re Doomed”
The Chief returns, seeing and hearing about what happened. He is scared that the group has caught the attention of an old enemy, who will be coming for the town and for them. He tells the group that they have to run as far away as fast as they can. Cliff refuses to abandon the town if there really is something coming after them. Jane convinces the others to stay and fight as well, going against The Chief’s wishes.
Mr. Nobody arrives. After taunting and threatening The Chief, Nobody creates a vortex in town in front of the would-be heroes.
