In the previous episode of Netflix’s Sex Education, Eric and Otis argued after Otis ditched him, and Maeve went back to Jackson after sharing a moment with Otis. In Sex Education season 1 episode 6, Otis took a big step, and Eric wasn’t himself.

His father was concerned, but Eric pointed out that it was what he wanted for him. Otis tried calling him to make up, but Eric sent him to voicemail.

Maeve’s brother, Sean was back in town. He had skipped town four months ago after a bad deal with some stolen Nikes. He paid her rent but still asked to borrow money. Sean couldn’t believe that Jackson was her boyfriend. However, when Maeve came home, she found Sean and Jackson hanging out. Jackson had ditched practice, despite being an important time in the swim season, and agreed to a beer
The paper that Maeve sold to Adam won the sixth form essay competition. Adam read it out loud, and his family celebrated his achievement. However, not everyone was convinced Adam wrote it. Both Otis and Miss Sands knew it was Maeve’s. She encouraged Maeve to apply to the Moordale Aptitude Scheme. Maeve would have a chance at a scholarship for university. Miss Sands told the headmaster she didn’t think Adam wrote it, and Mr. Groff dismissed it.
