In the previous episode of Tidelands, Adrielle welcomed Calliope into Tidelander society and taught her the history of their people. Augie discovered and quickly eliminated an an unfaithful employee, and Lamar continue to plot against Adrielle. What does this next installment have in store? Common Complaints
Calliope returned to the Tidelander settlement and immediately began to violently interrupt an orgy. Lamar calmed her down and told her to wait for Adrielle to return from her excursion. Adrielle was investigating the piece that had been discovered and she managed to get it for free after she murdered the archaeologist who had found it. Calliope tracked down Dylan, but she was reprimanded for coming to the settlement. In response, Calliope sabotaged Dylan’s boat so that he couldn’t go sailing.
Violca, a Tidelander, and Colton, one of Augie’s men, discovered that she was pregnant. The pair decided that in order for them to safely raise their child, they needed to kill both Augie and Adrielle. Calliope told Dylan about Augie’s recent murderous actions and explained how she felt about learning that she was half-Tidelander. Dylan tried to comfort her with tales of how he thought Adrielle was manipulating the entire Tidelander society.
Looking Into Things
Augie laid out his plan to kill Gregori to his men, some of whom felt uneasy after Augie had killed Jared. Colton explained Gregori’s life story to the group and one of the other men tried to convince Colton to spare Gregori and to negotiate with him. Calliope and Dylan found solace in their embrace of each other and their shared mistrust of the authority figures. Corey continued to investigate Calliope’s childhood arrest and noticed some discrepancies in the autopsy report. Adrielle attempted to summon a water goddess following the instructions on the newest piece she had attained, but it failed.
Explanations
Corey went to the coroner and accused him of falsifying the autopsy and Corey wanted to know why that had been done. Colton met with Gregori and convinced him to help dispose of Augie. Lamar had stolen a shard from Adrielle and took it to Bill to discover its origins. Calliope and Dylan discussed how Dylan came to live with the TIdelanders and he lamented never getting to meet his biological mother. Violca tried to convince the other Tidelanders that Adrielle was unfit to be queen, and they were inclined to agree with her.
Adrielle returned home and Lamar told her about Violca’s pregnancy. Dylan went to Adrielle and she immediately sniffed out his recent sexual encounter with Calliope. Augie and his men put together their final preparations for their firefight with Gregori. Colton had a change of heart and warned Augie about the betrayal of his men and Augie fled before any harm could come to him. Adrielle had Calliope bring Colton to her to try and install some stability into the drug trade. Adrielle sacrificed Colton in an attempt to summon a Siren and she was finally successful.
