On June 12, 1994, authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in the courtyard of Simpson’s residence. After a thorough investigation and a slow-speed chase, police eventually apprehended her ex-husband, OJ Simpson, for the slayings. Lifetime documentary series The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson reveals startling details about the gruesome crime and what happened afterward. Additionally, it also talks about how Nicole Brown Simpson’s children got to know about their mother’s death.

While talking to People Magazine, one of Simpson’s sisters, Dominique Brown, disclosed how their mother told Nicole Brown Simpson’s children – Sydney and Justin – about their mother’s death. The victim’s mother, Juditha, learned about Simpson’s demise through a phone call from the police. As soon as she heard the news, she began crying and fell to her knees. However, she didn’t let Simpson’s children live in the dark and told about her death by saying that their mother had gone to “heaven.” Citing her mother, Dominique said, “She goes, ‘Mommy’s in heaven.”

For the uninitiated, Nicole and OJ Simpson’s children were present in the house when the murders took place. After the slaying, Nicole Brown Simpson’s children were looked after by their maternal grandparents. However, they lost touch with them after the court acquitted OJ in Simpson’s murder case and won a custody battle against the family.

How old were Nicole Brown Simpson’s children at the time of her murder?

Nicole Brown Simpson’s children were present in the house and sleeping in their bedrooms when the killings happened. Simpson’s daughter, Sydney, was eight years old, and son, Justin, was five years old at the time of her murder. According to Business Insider, Nicole’s parents took care of the children amid the trial that ensued after the murder. However, they had to hand over the children to their father after losing the custody battle.

Dominique Brown noted that the entire Brown family lost touch with Sydney and Justin after the custody battle. Moreover, the Lifetime documentary made them learn about the problems Nicole Brown Simpson’s children faced. Dominique told People Magazine, “We found out a lot of things went down in Florida — 911 calls with the kids saying, ‘Daddy, stop,’ their house getting raided, just chaos.”

Per the Tampa Bay Times, Nicole Brown Simpson’s daughter, Sydney, pursued a career in real estate. The outlet mentioned that she stays away from the spotlight and doesn’t use social media. On the other hand, Justin also works in real estate and became a father in 2022, per People Magazine.
