Sharon Beshenivsky was a British police constable who tragically lost her life on November 18, 2005. Reports suggest that on the fateful day, she and her colleague, PC Teresa Milburn, arrived at Bradford Central police station at 7 a.m. A few hours later, in another part of the city, three goons entered Universal Express travel agents with weapons in their arms.

The trio assaulted a staff member and demanded money. Furthermore, they threatened to kill a young individual present at the scene. Almost half an hour into this hostility, a travel agent named Waqas Yousaf triggered a silent alarm, and Beshenivsky and Milburn were sent to neutralize the ordeal. When the PC duo approached Universal Express travel agents’ door, a gunman emerged and shot at both of them. Even though both constables were wounded, Beshenivsky’s injury proved to be fatal.

Soon, West Yorkshire Police’s control room learned of the situation and took Beshenivsky to the hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital could not save the 38-year-old and she succumbed to her injuries. According to the Daily Mail, the robbers managed to flee with more than £5,000.

The Aug 16, 2010 episode of Death on Duty covered this tragic case. According to IMDb, it was directed by Sarah Hey and starred, Andy Brennan, Paul Beshinivsky, and Mark Austin.
