“Jennifer Faith” is an episode of Oxygen’s Snapped that revolves around the murder of Jamie Faith and the subsequent arrest and conviction of his wife, Jennifer Faith, and her high school boyfriend, Darrin Lopez. The episode will be aired on Oxygen on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 6 p.m. ET.

On October 9, 2020, a 49-year-old American Airlines employee, Jamie Faith, went for a walk with his wife, Jennifer Faith, and their dog, Maggie. A black pickup truck reportedly pulled up, and a masked man got down the car to open fire on Jamie. The masked man shot the American Airlines employee seven times before he was found dead at the scene. Neighbors heard the gunshots and rushed to the crime scene, following which authorities arrived at the location.

As per NBC News, Jamie Faith’s wife, Jennifer, pleaded guilty to using interstate commerce in the commission of murder-for-hire. She reportedly convinced Darrin Lopez that Jamie had been sexually and physically abusing her and told him that her life would be under serious threat if he didn’t kill Jamie. Darrin Lopez and Jennifer had allegedly rekindled their relationship in March 2020.

After Jamie Faith died, Jennifer started a GoFundMe page and withdrew over $58,000 from the funds raised. She used the money raised from credit cards, which she shared access to with Lopez. CBS News reported that she reportedly sent him hundreds of dollars via Venmo.

Darrin Lopez pleaded not guilty and claimed that he was manipulated into killing Jamie Faith. However, he was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 62 years in prison.

How was Jamie Faith’s killer caught?

During the investigation, Jennifer told authorities that a masked man pulled up and shot Jamie Faith before trying to abduct her. When the police went through her phone, they found out that she had been having an emotional affair with Darrin Lopez, her former boyfriend and a war veteran. They found over 14,000 calls and texts exchanged between the two within a month, according to CBS News.

Although Jennifer was careful to erase all the calls and texts with Darrin Lopez from her phone, authorities found messages in which she was telling her friend about Lopez. They then tracked his financial and cell phone data to track his activities in the days and hours leading up to the murder, ABC News reported.

When they searched Lopez’s home and car, they found the alleged murder weapon. They also found a couple of credit cards that were in Jennifer’s name. Additionally, they found a mask that matched the description that she gave for the mask worn by Jamie Faith’s killer. Lopez argued that Jennifer convinced him that Jamie was abusive. She reportedly shared images of bruises that she claimed were from the abuse. However, many of the pictures were from a car accident in the past. One picture was even from an online stock photo.

Jamie and Jennifer Faith married each other in 2012 in Las Vegas. He also adopted Jennifer’s daughter from her previous marriage, and the family moved to their Dallas home, outside which he was murdered.

Jamie Faith’s case will be shown in Oxygen‘s Snapped on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 6 p.m. ET.
