Snapped‘s upcoming episode, titled “Jennifer Faith,” will be aired on Oxygen on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 6 p.m. ET. It will revolve around the murder of Jamie Faith, an American Airlines employee who was killed on October 9, 2020, outside his Dallas home in Texas. He was reportedly out on a walk with his wife, Jennifer Faith, and their dog, Maggie, when a masked gunman opened fire on him and shot him seven times.

Authorities discovered that Jamie’s wife, Jennifer Faith, and her high school boyfriend, Darrin Lopez, had planned the murder, CBS News reported. During an investigation by the Dallas Police Department, it was found that Jennifer and Lopez exchanged more than 14,000 texts and calls between September 30 and October 30, 2020. In January 2021, Lopez was arrested by the ATS Special Response Team in Tennessee.

Lopez reportedly pulled up in a black pick-up truck and shot Jamie Faith seven times. He was masked at the time, according to the statement by Jennifer Faith. In the days after Jamie’s death, she reportedly bought Lopez several gifts from the money she collected from a community fundraising platform. She then set up a GoFundMe and withdrew around $58,000, which she used through credit cards. Lopez also shared access to the cards.

Why did Darrin Lopez kill Jamie Faith?

Darrin Lopez was Jennifer Faith’s former boyfriend with whom she reportedly reconnected in March 2020. Authorities discovered the murder weapon in Lopez’s possession when they searched his house and car. They also found credit cards in Jennifer’s name and a mask that was similar to the one worn by the shooter who killed Jamie Faith. He told authorities that Jennifer asked for his help to kill her husband, CBS News reported.

Jennifer also reportedly created a fake e-mail ID, which she used to impersonate Jamie and convince Lopez’s of the abuse. She additionally sent threatening e-mails to herself from that account. This made Lopez believe that her life would be under significant threat if he doesn’t intervene and kill Jamie Faith. She also claimed that the threats were because Jamie found out about Jennifer Faith and Darrin Lopez’s affair. She reportedly sent him hundreds of dollars through Venmo transactions.

What was Jennifer Faith convicted of?

In February 2022, Jennifer Faith pleaded guilty to orchestrating the murder of her husband. She also pleaded guilty to using interstate commerce in the commission of murder-for-hire. She admitted to falsely convincing Lopez that her husband had been abusing her. Jennifer Faith falsely convinced Lopez that Jamie had been physically and sexually abusing her, NBC News reported. Moreover, she used fake e-mail IDs and pictures of previous injuries to convince Lopez of the alleged abuse.

However, Darrin Lopez pleaded not guilty, and the court convicted him of Jamie Faith’s murder. He was sentenced to 62 years in prison. He then claimed that Jennifer Faith manipulated him into killing Jamie. Lopez said he shot him only because of the abuse that she accused him of. ABC News reported that investigators also revealed that one of the images of bruises she shared with Lopez was an online stock image. Other images were from a car accident that she had been in a few years ago.

The upcoming Snapped episode will be aired on Oxygen on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 6 p.m. ET.
