An all-new episode of ID’s Crimefeed will look into Kelsey Berreth’s murder case on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 11 p.m. ET. Berreth, a Colorado mother-of-one, went missing on Thanksgiving Day in 2018 from her home. She was last seen on November 22 with her fiance, Patrick Frazee, and their child.
Detectives kept searching for the young mother until Frazee’s then-mistress, Krystal Kenney, cooperated with authorities and made a shocking revelation. Kenney admitted that Frazee beat Berreth to death in her house with a baseball bat. He later enlisted her help to cover up the murder. She also alleged that he had previously attempted to enlist her help to murder the victim on three separate occasions.
Reportedly, Kenney pleaded guilty to tampering with evidence in February 2019. Meanwhile, Frazee stood trial, and a jury found him guilty of murder and other charges, following which he received a life sentence with no parole and other additional terms.
Kelsey Berreth’s killer: Where is Patrick Frazee now?
CNN reported that in November 2019, a jury convicted Kelsey Berreth’s killer, Patrick Frazee, of murder, among other charges. These included two counts of first-degree murder, three counts of solicitation of first-degree murder, and one count of tampering with a deceased human body. District Court Judge Scott Sells then sentenced him to life in prison with no parole for the murder charge. Additionally, he also received 156 years for the remaining counts.
According to the Colorado Department of Corrections, Frazee is serving his sentence at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility.
Prosecutors believed Frazee’s conviction was a success, partly owing to the “overwhelming” amount of evidence present. Prosecutor Beth Reed said, “The evidence is compelling; it’s overwhelming that the defendant is guilty as charged.” His former mistress, Krystal Kenney’s, testimony against him also proved consequential. She had previously pleaded guilty to tampering with physical evidence in February of that same year.
The outlet further mentioned Kenney’s testimony. She said that Frazer accused Berreth of abusing their child. She also testified that the defendant had previously tried to enlist her help in murdering the victim on three separate occasions.
People Magazine reported that the first time, Frazee had asked Kenney to give Berreth a drugged coffee. Days later, he gave her a pipe and told her to hit the mother-of-one on the head. The third time, he told Kenney to wait outside Berreth’s house with a baseball bat and “swing away” at her. And, when she refused to carry out the killing, Frazee committed the crime on his own and enlisted his mistress’ help to cover up the murder.
