Prosecuting Evil With Kelly Siegler: Who Were the Suspects Charged in Amy Robinson’s Murder Case?

On February 15, 1998, 19-year-old Amy Robinson was brutally murdered in Arlington, Texas. She reportedly suffered from a mental disability and had Turner’s Syndrome, which leads to an individual’s restricted growth in height and underdeveloped sexual features at puberty. Robinson worked as a cashier at Kroger grocery store in her hometown, and on the fateful day, she was riding her bicycle to her place of work.

On her way, two people, Michael Wayne Hall, 23, and Robert Neville, 18, approached her in their car and asked her if she wanted a lift. Robinson knew both of them since they had reportedly worked with her at the store. However, the two individuals had other motives.

Since Amy Robinson trusted the two, she got into the car, and they drove her to a rural field in Fort Worth. Later that night, the two men asked the 19-year-old to exit the car. According to Morbidology, when she came out, Hall and Neville shot her multiple times with a pellet gun, a crossbow, and a .22 caliber rifle. Even though Robinson cried, the two men showed no mercy and kept laughing while torturing her.

Robinson eventually died after taking a bullet to the head, following which Michael Wayne Hall and Robert Neville left the scene. A few days later, they returned to the scene and fired more shots at the 19-year-old’s corpse. Furthermore, they stole her keys and money.

Are Amy Robinson’s killers alive?

As per reports, Amy Robinson’s killers have been executed. After they were apprehended at the Mexican border on March 3, 1998, Hall and Neville confessed to murdering Robinson. Robert Neville was executed in 2006. At the time of his death, he was 31 years old. Six years later, Michael Wayne Hall met the same fate. Lethal injection was used on both the murderers.

Right before his execution, Michael Wayne Hall apologized for his actions. According to CBS News, he said, “I would like to give my sincere apology to Amy’s family. We caused a lot of heartache, grief, pain and suffering, and I am sorry. I know it won’t bring her back.”

He added, “I am not crying for myself, I am crying for the lost and those that are dying for their sins. I’ve been locked up 13 years. I am not locked up inside. All these years I have been free. Christ has changed me. Here I am, a big strong youngster, crying like a baby. I am man enough to show my emotions and I am sorry.”

This horrific case will be shown in detail on Prosecuting Evil With Kelly Siegler, which will air on December 8, 2023, at 8 pm ET on Oxygen. The episode is titled ‘The Most Innocent Victim.’
