The 82-year-old Finnish-Canadian businessman and former fashion executive, Peter Nygard, has recently been charged with four counts of sexual assault. He committed these hideous acts in the 1960s, 1980s, and 1990s. Nygard founded Nygard International in 1967. After over 50 years in business, the company filed for bankruptcy in 2020 following its founder’s arrest. A Canadian judge approved Nygard International’s liquidation in April 2020, and now the company is defunct.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Nygard’s net worth is a whopping $500 million as of November 2023. In 2009, Canadian Business Magazine reported that his net worth was $750 million, which made him the 70th richest Canadian in the world at that time.
Peter Nygard’s horrific crimes of sexual misconduct will be discussed in detail in an upcoming episode, titled Peter Nygard’s Unseen Tapes: Rich & Shameless, on Investigation Discovery (ID). It will air on December 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET on ID.
The official synopsis of Peter Nygard’s Unseen Tapes reads, “Billionaire fashion entrepreneur Peter Nygard seems to have it all — private jets, private islands and a private life filled with adoring women; Nygard’s bizarre quest to prevent himself from aging ultimately leads to an earthquake of allegation.”
What did Peter Nygard say in his court testimony?
