Lionel Dahmer, serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer’s father, recently passed away at the age of 87. According to The U.S Sun, he died in hospice care in rural Ohio. The report further stated that his health started to deteriorate after the demise of his wife on January 13, 2023.
Lionel had been in hospice care since October 2023. He had heart issues and was on medication for it. A source from the Medina County Health Department said, “It was slow at first, but he didn’t want to get up and move as much. It was almost as if he was ready to go.”
The source further stated, “There are plenty people out there who have a lot of respect and admiration for Lionel because of what he went through with Jeff and how he dealt with it. It’s a very sad day for those who cared about him.”
The relationship between Lionel and his son, serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, was explored in the 2022 Netflix true-crime anthology series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.
