The lives of Clayton Doerman, Hunter Doerman, and Chase Doerman came to a tragic end on June 15, 2023. The three young brothers were allegedly shot dead by their own father, Chad Doerman. According to Cincinnati Enquirer, the plan to terminate his sons had been on Chad’s mind for months.
The victims were only seven, four, and three years old. Furthermore, when one of the boys attempted to escape, Chad bought him back and took his life. Chad is 32 years old and facing the death penalty. However, his lawyers are trying hard to do what’s best for him.
Hamilton County Prosecutor, Mike Allen, reviewed a list of motions Chad’s lawyers presented to the court.
In a conversation with the Enquirer, he stated that most of the motions were the normal procedure for death penalty cases. He said, “They file every motion you can possibly think of.” Allen also added, “You don’t want the jury to associate the defendant with guilt.”
Allen ended his statement by saying, “The thought must be that if you’ve been convicted by a jury and served time you might be sympathetic to a defendant.”
Chad Doerman’s possible reason for murdering his biological sons
It is unclear as to why Chad shot Clayton, Hunter, and Chase dead. However, the website, Ready Steady Cut, speculates he did that to hurt his 34-year-old wife. The accused apparently believed that his wife was cheating on him. Unfortunately, this reason is unconfirmed. On the day of the incident, Chad’s wife faced an injury.
According to Judge Ferenc, Chad has acted professionally during his time in jail so far.
According to Dayton 24/7, he said, “Mr. Doerman has not been disruptive in any fashion at the county jail. He has not caused any problems. He has been in my courtroom twice and been very compliant. That will weigh in on the methods of restraint that I will consider at issue at this time.”
