Sheriff’s deputies of the Greene County, Missouri, United States, discovered the lifeless body of a 48-year-old woman named, Dee Dee Blanchard, on June 14, 2015. The killer had stabbed her 17 times, and her corpse was in a face-down position. Furthermore, Dee Dee’s daughter, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, was nowhere to be found. Everyone who knew the family believed that the person who took Dee Dee’s life had kidnapped her daughter.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard was wheelchair-bound and needed special care to stay alive. Her mother always made sure that Gypsy received everything she needed. However, as this case evolved, officials discovered that Gypsy was not disabled. In fact, she was perfectly normal. It was her own mother who had been medically abusing her for more than 20 years.
Who murdered Dee Dee Blanchard?
Investigators were shocked to learn that the plot to terminate the 48-year-old Blanchard was made by her own daughter Gypsy and her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.
According to All That’s Interesting, one of Gypsy’s friends, Aleah Woodmansee, informed the police that Gypsy had a secret online boyfriend and their relationship was serious. Officials quickly tracked him down and at his home, they discovered Dee Dee’s missing daughter. She was surprisingly standing and walking on her own two legs.
Officials furthermore learned that for over two decades, Dee Dee was only pretending to be a sincere mother. The truth was that she had medically enslaved her own daughter. Gypsy instructed her boyfriend to enter her home and kill her mother because she wanted to escape the life she had been forced to lead.
Nicholas Godejohn entered the Blanchard residence and murdered Dee Dee Blanchard. After that, the young couple made a run until officials managed to find them.
According to ABC News, cops only took 48 hours to arrest Gypsy and Nicholas.
