New Thai Drama Releases in August 2024

The year is halfway through and has already proven spectacular for Thai dramas. From the suspenseful twists of My Stand-In to the heartwarming friendship and romance of We Are, the diverse storylines have continued to keep viewers entertained.

This year has also been notable for GL dramas, as shows like 23.5 and Blank took over the internet. August promises to be another exciting month with several new releases. Here’s a list of the new Thai dramas debuting in August 2024.

The Loyal Pin

This year’s highly anticipated Thai drama, The Loyal Pin, will premiere on Sunday, August 4, 2024. It stars the popular Freen Sarocha Chankimha and Becky Rebecca Patricia Armstrong in the lead roles as Lady Pin and Princess Anilaphat, respectively.

It follows the pair’s journey to love after fate brings them together. However, given their statuses, they must overcome several hurdles. The drama will be broadcast on Workpoint TV (channel number 23) in Thailand. Meanwhile, international fans can watch it with subtitles on the IDOLFACTORY OFFICIAL YouTube channel.

Summer Night

GMMTV’s new drama, Summer Night, will premiere on Monday, August 5, 2024. The love triangle follows the story of Lune (Phuwin Tangsakyuen), Star (Parn Nachcha Chuedang), and White (Dunk Natachai Boonprasert).

The “invisible” Lune’s life is turned around when White, the school’s popular guy, befriends him. The former becomes a part of the latter’s circle. Things get complicated when both White and Lune develop feelings for the former’s friend, Star. The new series will be available to watch on channel GMM25. It is also expected to arrive on the label’s official YouTube channel.

Monster Next Door

The upcoming Thai BL drama Monster Next Door will premiere on Thursday, August 8, 2024. It stars Big Thanakorn Kuljarassombat and Park Anantadej Sodsee as God and Diew, respectively.

The university romance follows the introvert Diew, who hides in his apartment and keeps to his private world. Things take a turn when the extrovert God moves in next door. He apologizes to Diew after realizing someone is living in the adjacent apartment. The two begin talking through the balcony and grow close. However, Diew prefers not to meet God in person. Eventually, they find their way to each other. The series will arrive on WeTV.

Addicted Heroin

August Vachiravit Paisarnkulwong and Mac Nattapat Nimjirawat’s Addicted Heroin will premiere on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. The storyline follows a teen, Hero (August), as he joins a new school in a provincial town.

There, he gets close to a boy named Pop (Mac), who comes from a humble background. Son of a general, Hero, ran away from home after finding out his father had remarried and brought in his new wife and her child. Things get complicated as Pop turns out to be the son of his new stepmother.

The Last Time

The Last Time is another Thai BL drama set to release in the upcoming month. It will premiere on Friday, August 16, 2024, and stars Pakoo Atiwat Kanchanapiwat and Pao Piched Jongjaihan. The heartwrenching storyline follows a talented writer, Rew (Pakoo), who ends up turning into an alcoholic after losing his girlfriend, whom he was going to marry, in an accident.

Nonetheless, Arm (Pao) comes into his life and brightens up his world again. The two get close and form a deep bond as they work on a project together. Things take yet another tragic turn when Rew learns he has cancer. Arm decides to look after him, and they begin living together. However, a certain truth comes and tears their relationship apart. It leads to Rew disappearing from Arm’s life. The Last Time will be broadcast on PPTV HD36.
