GMMTV has shared an update on Thai actor Pawin Thanik Kamontharanon‘s lawsuit. Earlier this year, the actor got embroiled in a controversy when serious allegations of assault surfaced online. As a result, GMMTV announced Pawin’s work suspension as he went on a hiatus to battle the court case.
Months after the controversy, GMMTV shared an update on the lawsuit on Friday, May 31, 2024. The notice states, “The two parties requested a mediation in the presence of police officers and came to an agreeable settlement which ended with both parties dismissing their cases, hence concluded the lawsuit.”
The actor was active on social media during the hiatus, posting Instagram stories and updating his followers. Following the announcement, Pawin, too, shared GMMTV’s notice on his Instagram story.
Despite the settlement, there is still a heated conversation among the viewers of GMMTV as they have shared mixed responses to the update on the lawsuit. While some have pointed out the seriousness of the allegations, others shared that they are looking forward to seeing Pawin on their screens again.
Pawin Thanik Kamontharanon was replaced in the We Are series
Pawin Thanik was set to star in the new BL drama We Are this year. However, he was replaced by Poon Mitpakdee for the project. The actor joined the cast of several titles, including The Eclipse, Never Let Me Go, and Dangerous Romance, among others.
Aside from that, GMMTV is yet to announce the future projects that Pawin will be joining. Earlier this year, during the GMMTV2024 Up&Above Part2, the production house announced several new upcoming titles—The Heart Killers, Perfect10 Liners, Revamp, Ossan’s Love Thailand, and more. It can be contemplated that Pawin may join one of these projects, or others, this year.
