CS Video: The Ride Along 2 Cast and Crew

CS travels to Miami to sit down with the Ride Along 2 cast, including Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Olivia Munn and more!

Landing in theaters this Friday is Ride Along 2, the comedy sequel to the 2014 hit that teamed Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. The “brothers in law” are back and are joined by the returning Tika Sumpter as well as newcomers Olivia Munn, Ken Jeong and Benjamin Bratt. ComingSoon.net recently had the chance to speak with the entire Ride Along 2 cast at the film’s junket in Miami as well as with director Tim Story and producer Will Packer. Kevin Hart and Ice Cube lead the returning lineup of Ride Along 2, which finds Ben Barber (Hart) and Angela (Sumpter) gearing up for their wedding. Still eager to prove himself as a successful officer of the law, Ben convinces his soon to be brother in law, Detective James Payton (Cube), to include him on an undercover mission to Miami in the hopes that a computer hacker (Jeong) can give up information regarding a notorious but untouchable criminal, Antonio Pope (Bratt). There, Ben and James team with a tough Miami cop, Maya Cruz (Munn), in the hopes of exposing Pope and surviving long enough to make it back for Ben and Angela’s wedding.

The original Ride Along earned $154.5 million worldwide in 2014 on a budget of just $25 million. Cube also produces the sequel alongside Packer, Matt Alvarez and Larry Brezner.

Scripted by Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi and based on characters created by Greg Coolidge, Ride Along 2 is executive produced by Nicolas Stern, Ron Muhammad, Scott Bernstein, Chris Bender and JC Spink. Ride Along 2 hits theaters on January 15, 2016.
