Roland Emmerich isn’t always destroying the world in films such as 2012, The Day After Tomorrow and the upcoming sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence. No, every now and then he brings us something along the lines of The Patriot and Anonymous and with Stonewall it seems he’s toning it down even a little more.
Set to have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival before hitting theaters on Sept 25, Stonewall is a drama about a young man in New York caught up during the 1969 Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event widely considered the starting point for the modern gay civil rights movement. The film’s cast includes Jeremy Irvine, Caleb Landry Jones, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ron Perlman, Joey King and Karl Glusman.
I’ve included both the first trailer and poster below, check ’em out and leave your thoughts in the comments below.
