Jason Statham is back doing his Jason Statham thing again. Not that I am complaining. I love Statham. He is a dying breed of action star, and even if the movies he is in are terrible, he brings his brand of charisma, toughness, and cool to every role. His latest film is Wild Card (called Joker in other territories), which has a new international trailer for you to watch below.
The film, set to be released in theaters and On Demand on January 30th, also stars Stanley Tucci with hair and Sofia Vergara, though she only shows up at the very end of the trailer so I wonder how much she is actually in the film. From the looks of it, Tucci is the villain and Vergara is someone sexy that Statham is drawn towards, not surprising.
No, the film does not look very interesting. The January release date leaves a lot to be desired. Wild Card is also directed by Simon West (Stolen, The Expendables 2), which is not a good sign. But it is Statham kicking and punching. That should be somewhat entertaining. He also clocks a guy in the face with the back of his head. In slow motion. It also features the line “I want his nuts in my hand!” I certainly do not have any problems with that.
