Disney will release their live action adaptation of Cinderella on March 13, 2015 and they’ve finally lifted the veil and offer us a full look at the film which features Lily James in the title role (or, more specifically, Ella, as she’s known here) for director Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit).
The story follows young Ella whose merchant father remarries following the tragic death of her mother. Keen to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new stepmother Lady Tremaine (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father suddenly and unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. Ella does not give in to despair, meets a charming young man (Richard Madden), there’s a ball, she’s forbidden to go, a fairy godmother (Helena Bonham Carter) appears and so the story goes.
