I can’t say Atom Egoyan‘s name necessarily gets my blood pumping, but his new film Captives, which was just announced as a competition title at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, sounds very intriguing.
The thriller will almost certainly be compared to Denis Villeneuve‘s Prisoners as it centers on a father’s (Ryan Reynolds) search for his kidnapped daughter in the Toronto snow, but there is definitely far more to it than just that as this first look trailer emphasizes.
Along with Reynolds the film co-stars Mireille Enos, Rosario Dawson, Scott Speedman, Kevin Durand, Alexia Fast and Bruce Greenwood. Check out the trailer below.
