Magnolia has released the first official domestic trailer for Lars von Trier‘s Nymphomaniac: Volume I, which will arrive on iTunes and OnDemand on March 6 followed by a limited theatrical run on March 21.
The film half of von Trier’s film played the Berlin Film Festival recently as it tells the story of Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is discovered badly beaten in an alley by an older bachelor, Seligman (Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd), who takes her into his home. As he tends to her wounds, she recounts the erotic story of her adolescence and young-adulthood (portrayed in flashback by newcomer Stacy Martin).
Additional members of the cast (though I’m unsure how many of them are actually featured in Part One vs. Part Two) include Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Connie Nielsen and Udo Kier.
