This whole “untold” story thing studios are doing in trailers nowadays has to stop. First The Legend of Hercules was an untold story even though the story of Zeus’ son has been told for hundreds of years. Then it was The Monuments Men based on a book where the story was very much told by Robert M. Edsel. Now comes the Super Bowl trailer for Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah in which it claims the story of Noah’s Ark is… get this… untold. Uh, untold by whom? Unborn children?
Perhaps this is a way for Paramount to skirt agitation over the differences Aronofsky, Ari Handel and John Logan’s (Gladiator, Hugo) adaptation has when compared to the Biblical story from which it is based. I assume the Biblical story is the one that’s been told… This one, completely untold. Can’t wait to see what new facts have been dug up for this one.
