The Raid 2: Berandal will have its premiere at Sundance today, most likely to an ecstatic response filled with “The Raid 2 kicks so much ass!” “Even better than the first!” and “I can’t wait for The Raid 3!”
Picking up two hours after the first film ended, The Raid 2 once again follows undercover police officer Rama (Iko Uwais) who sets out to continue his fight against the entire criminal underworld and again I can only assume it will all devolve into a bunch of kicking, punching and fighting until one man is left standing. Very well, there’s an audience for it and I’m sure I’ll check it out even though I wasn’t a big fan of the first one.
And for those of you already champing at the bit for The Raid 3, apparently that’s already in the works with action in that film set to take place two hours before The Raid 2 ends.
The latest full length trailer has been released and can be viewed directly below. The Raid 2 hits theaters on March 28.
