New Trailer for ‘Her’ and Several New Pictures

Warner Bros. has just released a second trailer for Spike Jonze‘s Her, which anyone that reads this site regularly knows I absolutely loved (read my “A+” review here), along with a fleet of new pictures (29 to be exact).

The film is set in the not-so-distant future and centers on Theodore Twombly (Joaquin Phoenix), a man who will eventually grow to form a relationship with an advanced computer operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) and I absolutely love how this trailer prepares the audience to instantly accept this fact, which should definitely help with anyone that may otherwise laugh at the idea, which is to just completely not get the film’s intent whatsoever.

Because I can’t help myself, I’ll share with you a snippet from my review and then leave you to the new trailer and the multitude of new pictures over the next few pages:

Spike Jonze’s Her is absolutely wonderful. It’s a film that questions our very existence, who we are as people, what defines us and the complexity or lack thereof of human relationships and bonding. What’s truly amazing, is how simple Jonze makes it look, there are thematic layers to Her that could fill hours of discussion. One enlightened moment leads to another as the core pleasures we find in the company of others is stripped down to the very essence of humanity and what truly allows us to appreciate love and connect with someone else while also making a comment on our society on a whole.

The trailer is set to Arcade Fire‘s “Supersymmetry”, which is only appropriate considering the Canadian rock band provided the film’s score.
