Pine stars as Jack Ryan, the ex-Marine turned analyst from the Tom Clancy novels. Taking place before the events of Clancy’s original stories, here Ryan is a young stock broker working for a billionaire in Moscow before joining the CIA. When the billionaire he is advising frames him for a terrorist plot and kidnaps his wife, Ryan must race against time to clear his name, stop the plot, and save his wife.
Along with directing, Branagh stars as the film’s chief villain with Keira Knightley, Kevin Costner, Nonso Anozie and David Paymer co-starring.
The film is currently slated for a Christmas Day release, but may end up being bumped to January 17 depending on what happens with Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street. We should know soon enough, but for now check out the trailer below.
