So the little blue birds from the first film, Blu and Jewel (voiced by Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway), take their three baby birds to the Amazon where they find Jewel’s father and somehow the cockatoo from the first film, Nigel (voiced by Jemaine Clement), is somehow the villain once again. This is the plot of Rio 2, or at least that’s what I was able to gather while watching this new full-length trailer for the film.
Fox won’t be releasing the pic until April 11 so they’ve been careful not to reveal too much from the film yet with this being the most story-based trailer yet. The synopsis tells us that once the family gets settled in the Amazon, Blu tries to fit in and eventually worries he may lose Jewel and the kids to the call of the wild. Sounds to me like he has a pretty good relationship with the mother of his children if he’s really “worried”.
