FilmDistrict has taken a different approach to their marketing for Spike Lee‘s upcoming Oldboy remake and issued a collection of six advertisements promoting the amenities available at the hotel where an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) is kidnapped and held in solitary confinement for 20 years without any indication of his captor’s motive. Once released he attempts to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment, leading him into an ill-fated relationship with a young social worker (Elizabeth Olsen) and ultimately to an illusive man (Sharlto Copley) who allegedly holds the key to his salvation.
