New Japanese Trailer for ‘The Wolverine’

We just have to admit, it’s that time of year where the comic book adaptations are going to be bombarding our senses. It’s what makes the Cannes Film Festival such a welcomed respite from the goofy antics of men in tights and their superpowers. I may enjoy a popcorn feature such as this just as much as the next person, but its the marketing onslaught that begins to wear a little.

However, let’s remain positive this morning shall we? I have a new Japanese trailer for The Wolverine to share with you along with a batch of hi-res pictures from the film, all of which you’ve likely seen before, now only cleaner copies straight from the studio.

The Wolverine is based on the celebrated comic book arc, The Wolverine finds Logan (Hugh Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.

I didn’t watch the previous trailer and I only skimmed through this latest one to get the screen capture above of Jackman with a most quizzical look on his face, so I can’t tell you what is different and what isn’t. Though, this one does still include that silly looking “top of the bullet train” sequence the first one had. So there’s that.

I will say this, all I can really think about while looking at anything from this movie is, “I wonder what this would have been like had Darren Aronofsky remained on as director.” Oh well…

The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, check out the new trailer and pictures below. The pictures continue onto the second page as well.
