I don’t know what it is exactly, but something about the Google tie-in with The Internship rubs me the wrong way. I use plenty of the products and apps Google has to offer and appreciate their ease and simplicity, but when a company reaches a commercial level such as this I get this queasy feeling in my stomach. The title treatment for the film alone is enough to put me off. It looks childish and cheap… Talk about making snap judgments right?
Beyond my superficial and meaningless ramblings, what is The Internship all about? Well, Wedding Crashers co-stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson reteam to portray two old school salesmen who, finding themselves suddenly unemployed and passed-by in the digital world, try to reinvent themselves by becoming interns at a major tech company… Google.
The film hits theaters on June 7, give the latest trailer a watch below and let me know what you think. Will it be any good or like a swift punch in the nuts?
