I didn’t see the first Grown Ups film so obviously I won’t make an effort to see the sequel, after all, I’d be completely lost. In fact, I didn’t even bother to watch this Grown Ups 2 trailer. Why would I? The narrative arcs and growth shown in the characters after one full feature film would more than likely have me staring at the screen, confused by what I was seeing. So, I’ll resort to the studio-provided synopsis to let us in on what exactly is going on here:
The all-star comedy cast from Grown Ups returns (with some exciting new additions) for more summertime laughs. Lenny (Adam Sandler) has relocated his family back to the small town where he and his friends grew up. This time around, the grown ups are the ones learning lessons from their kids on a day notoriously full of surprises: the last day of school.
Along with Sandler the film co-stars Kevin James, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, Nick Swardson and I think Taylor Lautner and Shaquille O’Neal are in there somewhere.
