Universal Pictures has premiered the first 2 Guns trailer, the upcoming film from Baltasar Kormakur starring Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington adapted from the Boom! Studios comic book.
The story centers on DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) who have been working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate for the last 12 years, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down. When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.
Kormakur last directed Wahlberg in the lackluster Contraband, and this one co-stars Paula Patton, Bill Paxton, Fred Ward, James Marsden and Edward James Olmos. Will 2 Guns prove any better than the last Wahlberg-Kormakur outing?
The film hits theaters on August 2, check out the trailer below and check out some new artwork and pictures from the movie right here.
