I am seeing The Host tonight and I don’t know who Jeanne Wolf of Jeanne Wolf’s Hollywood or Greg Russell of WMYD are, but apparently, based on their quotes in the new trailer below this is gonna be one hell of a intensely passionate, startlingly original movie that is full of suspense and excitement. I mean, can you beat that?
As we are all well aware, the film is based on the novel from Twilight author Stephenie Meyer. As for the story, here’s the synopsis:
When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan) will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about — Jared (Max Irons), Ian (Jake Abel), her brother Jamie (Chandler Canterbury) and her Uncle Jeb (William Hurt) , proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.
Diane Kruger also stars as what looks like the film’s villain, but I haven’t really been paying close enough attention to really know as I am hoping to go in with few expectations thought the source of the material is something that can’t entirely escape me.
The film hits theaters this weekend as the counter-programming to Paramount’s G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which I saw last night, which makes for one hell of a March double-bill.
