Still without a distributor, Joel and Ethan Coen‘s new film Inside Llewyn Davis remains a bit of a mystery, but today we get our first look at the upcoming drama starring Oscar Isaac in the title role.
Scripted by the brothers, the film takes a look at the ’60s Greenwich Village folk scene with Davis’ struggles at the center of the story. A variety of folk musicians served as inspiration, though Dave Van Ronk and his memoir “[amazon asin=”030681479X” text=”The Mayor of MacDougal Street”]” was said to be the story’s primary muse.
The film co-stars Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garrett Hedlund, John Goodman and F. Murray Abraham.
Check out the trailer below. The film will have a sneak premiere Saturday, February 9 on the Sony Lot. IndieWire has more news on that.
