Watch: Trailer for ‘The Last Exorcism Part II’

Everyone is a demon in the first trailer for The Last Exorcism Part II, which actually looks just like what you would expect from an exorcism movie and it has clearly abandoned the “found footage” aspect of the first film, though you’ll have to explain to me why people would taunt someone that was possessed with video of her possession. That one I don’t quite get.

The story picks up where the last film left off with Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) found alone in rural Louisiana, unable to remember large portions of the previous months. Of course, the demon that terrorized her in the last film is coming back to get her, but if I remember correctly wasn’t there a demon baby, a cult and a fire at the end of the last movie? Wouldn’t it have been more interesting to explore what happened with that?

I also have to ask, when will we reach the point where floating in bed, black eyes and contortionist efforts are no longer part of the equation when it comes to exorcism movies?

I don’t know. Here’s the trailer, have a look. The film hits theaters on March 1.
