This first trailer for Snitch has some of the worst cinematography I have seen in some time. The only image that wasn’t either frenetic or a macro-level close-up on someone’s face was the one above and it features a room full one money stacked up against the wall… What idiot bad guy does that?
Snitch stars Dwayne Johnson as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission — risking everything, including his family and his own life.
I always consider it something of a bad sign for a film when a trailer is released and I forgot the film to the point I actually was surprised to find I had already added it to the database. Such is the case with this film, which is directed by Ric Roman Waugh who hung up his days as a stuntman after Jet Li’s The One in 2001 and has been directing movies you haven’t heard of ever since.
Snitch co-stars Susan Sarandon, Barry Pepper, Michael Kenneth Williams and Benjamin Bratt and arrives in theaters on February 22. Check out the trailer below.
