We wouldn’t expect anything less as the first trailer for Steven Soderbergh‘s Side Effects has arrived pretty much without warning. The guy already brought us Haywire and Magic Mike this year, is working on the Liberace biopic “Behind the Candelabra” with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon and yet here we are with another new film from the man.
Side Effects has gone back-and-forth between that title and The Bitter Pill as it stars Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) as a woman who turns to prescription medication as a way of handling her anxiety concerning her husband’s (Channing Tatum) upcoming release from prison. Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Vinessa Shaw also star.
Scott Z. Burns (Contagion) wrote the screenplay and Open Road is handling distribution with a February 8, 2013.
