Universal has released a new international trailer for the Guillermo del Toro-produced supernatural thriller Mama directed by Andres Muschietti and starring Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nellsse.
The last time del Toro produced a thriller it turned out the disappointing Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, but he also brought us Juan Antonio Bayona’s The Orphanage so I’m all up for another Spanish thriller.
Mama tells the tale of two little girls who disappeared into the woods the day their parents were killed. When they are rescued years later and begin a new life, they find that someone or something still wants to come tuck them in at night.

Mama hits theaters on January 18, smack dab in the middle of a horror-filled start of the new year which includes Texas Chainsaw 3D and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters.
