It just sort of snuck up on us didn’t it? For so long Paul Thomas Anderson‘s The Master seemed like a dream. Then it was in production, out of production, rumored for Cannes, added to the festival list at Venice, added to Toronto, sneaking in Santa Monica, playing in Chicago and on and on… It’s here! It’s hitting limited theaters on September 14 and expanding nationwide on September 21 and the final theatrical trailer has arrived.
Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Lancaster Dodd, the charismatic leader of a belief system known as The Cause, a Naval veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future until he finds himself tantalized by Dodd and his teachings.
Along with Hoffman and Phoenix, the film co-stars Amy Adams, Laura Dern, Lena Endre, Jesse Plemons, David Warshofsky, Rami Malek and Joshua Close.
