Watch: Official Trailer for the ‘Red Dawn’ Remake

The first official trailer for Red Dawn, the remake of the 1984 original has finally arrived. The film was originally set to hit theaters in 2010, but was delayed until November 21, 2012 due to MGM’s financial woes. Now, FilmDistrict has stepped in to distribute the pic, which now stars the world-famous Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers, Thor) alongside The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson along with Josh Peck, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Edwin Hodge, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The story centers on an American city that awakens to the surreal sight of North Korean paratroopers dropping from the sky — shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.

Check out the trailer directly below and leave your thoughts in the comments. Personally, while I didn’t watch the trailer, just skimming through for a screen capture made it look very generic.
