I guess that idea of only releasing clips from the film before releasing a trailer later on down the road has gone out the window as 20th Century Fox premieres the first trailer for Ang Lee‘s Life of Pi, the 3-D adaptation of Yan Martel’s Booker Prize-winning novel.
The story centers on a young man (Suraj Sharma) who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship’s only other survivor — a fearsome Bengal tiger. Gerard Depardieu, Irrfan Khan and Tabu co-star.
I will say this, just searching through the trailer for a screenshot I was blown away by the visuals. This really could potentially be the movie event of the year.
