The first trailer for Won’t Back Down is now online offering the first look at what may be Viola Davis‘s 2012 Oscar bid with potential as well for Maggie Gyllenhaal. Of course, there is the stumbling block when you consider the film is directed by Daniel Barnz whose Beastly didn’t exactly excite audiences.
Barnz co-wrote the screenplay with Brin Hill and an in-depth synopsis has yet-to-be released to my knowledge with all that’s really known at this point is Davis and Gyllenhaal star as a pair of mothers who team up to help make a difference by establishing a charter school in their Pittsburgh neighborhood.
The film co-stars Ving Rhames, Oscar Isaac, Holly Hunter, Rosie Perez and Emily Alyn Lind and is currently set to hit theaters on September 28.
